About This Event
Theemithi is Singapore's annual Hindu fire-walking festival. The 2026 edition begins with the flag-hoisting ceremony on 17 August and reaches its climax on 1 November 2026 at Sri Mariamman Temple (244 South Bridge Road, Singapore 058793). Devotees who wish to participate in paalkudam, angaprathachanam, kumbiduthandam, or the fire pit walk itself must register online from 24 September 2026; no walk-in ticket sales are available.
A highlight of the festival is the male foot procession from Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple at 397 Serangoon Road in Little India to Sri Mariamman Temple, a route that links two of Singapore's most important Hindu landmarks. The festival is organised by the Hindu Endowments Board.
Spectators are welcome, but the fire-walking ceremony itself is reserved for registered devotees. The event can be crowded, so travellers should plan transport around Little India and Chinatown, with the nearest MRT stations being Little India (NE7/DT12) and Chinatown (NE4/DT19).
