Wok & Toast 街坊 opened at 263 Serangoon Central Drive #01-43 as a new all-day concept from The Neighbourwok, the Bukit Batok Hokkien mee brand. Grand opening is 4 October 2026. Soft opening already drew a queue before the 5pm service on a Friday, according to SethLui's Aaron Tan, who walked in before some mains were even on the board.
This is not another food-court stall. Burpple reviewers note it took over the former Hee Paradise unit, a space that was also Kokoyo Nyonya Delights before that brand moved to Jelita. The Neighbourwok's other outlets sit inside coffeeshops at Bukit Batok West and Owen Road. Serangoon is the first time founder Kelvin Teo has run a shop with its own four walls, breakfast toast, and a kopitiam drinks list next to the wok.
What is on the menu, and what was missing before 4 October
DanielFoodDiary lists Fried Hokkien Prawn Mee at S$7.80 and S$11.80. SethLui ordered the small bowl at S$7.80 during the pre-opening week, with four to five prawns, sotong rings, pork belly, pork lard, and sambal. The noodles run drier than the wet Bukit Batok version. The lime-heavy chilli cuts the fat. Wok hei is there, but milder than the loudest AMK stalls.
Nasi Lemak at S$7.80 and Dry Chilli Ban Mian at S$6.80 were not served yet on that Friday visit. Both were due once the grand opening hit. If you came only for those two, wait until after 4 October rather than assuming the printed menu is live.
Breakfast is the other half of the shop. Set A is S$5.80 for kaya butter toast, two soft-boiled eggs, and a hot coffee or tea. Set B, the one SethLui ordered, is S$6.30 and swaps in iced coffee or tea. Kaya is Pandan or Gula Melaka. The gula melaka toast they tried was dark, fragrant, and grilled properly. Laksa is S$6.80 with fishcake, tau pok, cockles, half a boiled egg, and tau geh. Both reviewers found the broth thin. Do not make this your laksa destination on the first visit.
Hours, and why two sources disagree
DanielFoodDiary prints 8am to 8pm daily. SethLui arrived at 4.45pm on Friday 2 October and found the shop shut until 5pm, with a posted break from 3pm to 5pm. That matches how Neighbourwok's other stalls split lunch and dinner. Treat 8am to 3pm and 5pm to 8pm as the working pattern until you see a new sign on the door. A queue formed in under five minutes before the evening service, so arriving at 4.50pm is not a waste if you want a seat.
A large glass window faces the wok. That is the show. Sit there if you came for Hokkien mee. Sit further in if you came for toast and kopi and do not want the heat.
263 Serangoon Central Drive is the HDB block next to NEX, a short walk from Serangoon MRT (NE12/CC13). It is a neighbourhood shop, not a mall unit. If you already came to NEX for groceries, this is the detour for people who want Hokkien mee without going to Bukit Batok. Follow @theneighbourwok for the live menu once nasi lemak and ban mian actually land.
