NEX's Mid-Autumn run this year is called Moonlit Wonders, and the useful part is not the lantern wallpaper. It is a stack of small, same-day redemptions that only work if you spend in the right shops, scan a NEXrewards QR, and queue at the right counter. The TANGS Mid-Autumn Fair sits in the Level 1 Atrium from 4 to 25 September 2026. Games on Level 3 run 5 to 20 September. The rooftop gathering is two nights only, 19 and 20 September. Today is already inside that window.
How the TANGS fair actually pays you back
The fair opens 10am to 10pm, with a noon start on 4 September. Time Out Singapore flags the playful boxes, yuzu green tea, Dubai chocolate, mochi fillings, next to the usual baked lotus paste. NEX's own listing is blunter about money. Spend $20 in a single transaction at the fair, scan your member QR, and you earn NEXpoints, with a daily cap of 500. eNEXvouchers cannot be used at the TANGS stalls. If you came hoping to dump mall vouchers on mooncakes, that is the first trap.
The Eight Bites Trail is the other fair-only mechanic. Pick up a mooncake-shaped card, stop at all eight featured stores, collect a slice stamp at each, and NEX says you receive a Sanrio lantern plus a gift. Stocks run out. Weekend evenings at the atrium are the worst time to start a trail that needs eight counters still open.
The $30 receipt that unlocks Level 3
From 5 to 20 September, a $30 single-transaction spend at selected participating stores, including the fair, unlocks two activities outside Yue Hwa on Level 3: an AI portrait booth and a mooncake packing game. Redemption is same day, in person, 11.30am to 8.30pm, first come first served. NEX caps it at 180 redemptions a day and two per member. Hypermarket and supermarket receipts do not count. Beauty, hair, wellness, and enrichment receipts do not count either. A FairPrice Finest run will not get your child into the packing game.
Time Out describes the booth as a '60s-style portrait or an ancient Chinese princess or warrior look. Treat that as a photo op, not a studio session. The packing game is the one worth the queue if you have school-holiday kids. Complete it and you get a token. The lantern riddle wall is separate and free to try. Top 10 on the leaderboard can win $50 eNEXvouchers. Dates and store exclusions live on the Moonlit Wonders event page.
Rooftop slots on 19 and 20 September
Moonlight Gathering is the piece most people will miss because it is small. NEX's rooftop on Level 4R runs two sessions a night, 7.15pm to 8pm and 8.15pm to 9pm, 19 and 20 September only. Each $30 qualifying spend yields an eCoupon for one pair. Fifteen pairs per session. Each person gets a goodie bag. Rabbit mascot photos are part of the pitch. Redeem at the L1 Customer Service Counter near Paris Baguette, not at Yue Hwa. Queue tickets stop at 7.30pm. The coupon is valid only for the session you pick that day.
If you already shop NEX for groceries, fold the fair into a weekday late morning. Join NEXrewards before you pay. Keep the physical receipt. Do not use a supermarket or salon bill for the activity desk. For the rooftop, treat 19 and 20 September like a timed ticket, even though entry to the mall is free.
